Who We Are
At Roche, 85,000 people across 150 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare. Working together, we’ve become one of the world’s leading research-focused healthcare groups. Our success is built on innovation, curiosity and diversity.
A member of the Roche Group, Genentech has been at the forefront of the biotechnology industry for more than 30 years, using human genetic information to develop novel medicines for serious and life-threatening diseases. Genentech has multiple therapies on the market for cancer & other serious illnesses. Please take this opportunity to learn about Genentech where we believe that our employees are our most important asset & are dedicated to remaining a great place to work.
The Biomedical Imaging Department at Genentech invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral research position in magnetic resonance imaging. The position will broadly focus on the application of biomedical imaging to the study of structural and physiological changes (pO2, pH, perfusion, etc) that occur in the response to therapy. The areas of potential projects for this position include the study of tumor immunology and the tumor micro-environment by various MRI techniques (ex. immune cell labeling/trafficking, perfusion, diffusion, and targeted contrast agents). Research activities will be to focus on MRI applications, although other imaging modalities will likely be employed to provide complimentary information. The ideal candidate would have a strong MRI background and a strong interest in applying imaging to address specific biological questions related to our internal research programs.
The Biomedical Imaging Department is a dedicated, state-of-the-art research facility that includes MRI (7T and 9.4T systems), micro-CT (in-vivo and ex-vivo), ultrasound, micro-PET, micro-SPECT/CT, and various optical imaging techniques. Genentech offers one of the most comprehensive benefits packages in the industry. Our culture emphasizes working hard, working together and sharing rewards.
Who you are
In hiring new employees, we look for people who are also inspired by our mission and who would fit in well with the collaborative, rigorous and entrepreneurial spirit of the company culture. Because we know that employees are critical to our success in
bringing novel medicines to patients, we are dedicated to remaining a great place to work and to providing employees with programs, services and benefits that allow them to bring the best to the business and to their personal lives.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline, such as bio/biomedical engineering, biophysics, or physics. The candidate should have demonstrated excellence in the field of in-vivo pre-clinical MRI, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and productivity during their Ph.D. studies. Strong experience with MRI is required. Software experience with high-level programming languages (C++, Python, IDL, MatLab, etc.) and data analysis packages (Analyze, JMP, etc.) is expected. Previous experience with in-vitro and in-vivo biological techniques is desired.
